New: Kitchen Garden Design Spots Are Open

Over the past few years, I’ve helped people think through their gardens, planting plans, and outdoor spaces. Some of this has been in person, but much of it has been online.

Lately, I've realized I've been missing doing more in-person client work. Perhaps you can relate, but I find myself in front of a computer more than in front of people oftentimes.

So I've decided to change that. I’m now quite excited to be opening a limited number of in-person kitchen garden design spots for people in the Napa-Sonoma area and environs.

I've been rather obsessed with traditional potager kitchen gardens for a long time. A potager is a traditional French kitchen garden.

Jardin potagers blend food production with ornamental design. The word comes from potage, the French term for soup, meaning the garden is meant to supply ingredients for daily meals. 🥕🫛

I love the idea of making a garden both beautiful and productive.

Also, not gonna lie, I love the geometric lines of many kitchen gardens. (I think it speaks to my inner control freak...)

Throw in an espaliered fruit tree, and I'm all yours.💗

So this is for you if you want a beautiful, productive kitchen garden, but you don’t want to figure out the layout, raised beds, trellises, soil, plant selection, and installation on your own.

This may include:

  • A finished kitchen garden plan

  • Raised beds and trellises

  • Soil and amendments

  • Seasonal plant selections

  • Product sourcing and installation

It's also for you if you would like to learn about growing your own food, OR if you want to be hands-off about it and have someone come in and take care of it for you.

Design, installation, garden coaching, and maintenance: all is available

Because this is an in-person service, it is currently available only within about 1/2 an hour's drive or so of Napa, CA.

I’m starting with a small number of projects so I can refine the process and make sure every garden gets the attention it deserves.

If you’re in the greater Napa area and would like to explore a kitchen garden for your property, book a discovery call.
