About Greenhouse Garden Design
Meet Tina Huffman
Rooted in plant science, trained in landscape architecture
I'm Tina Huffman, a landscape designer and horticulturist in Napa, California.
I grew up gardening in a family of plant people, including my great-grandfather, who designed the first gardens at San Francisco's Olympic Club. I went on to earn a B.S. in Horticulture, then a Master's in Landscape Architecture.
That combination is at the heart of how I design, where I use a structure-first approach for strong bones that hold the garden together, then plantings layered in to bring each season its own beauty.
I've designed residential gardens while working for Bay Area landscape architecture firms and now through my own studio where I work with clients who want a garden that feels like it was always part of their home and its unique setting.
Every great garden starts with a plan
Many properties come together over years, one project at a time. Each piece may be lovely on its own, but the pieces rarely feel connected to each other, to the home, or to the landscape beyond.
A plan changes that. It ties every space, path, and planting together, so each decision builds on the one before.
The result is a garden that feels whole, at home in its surroundings, and unmistakably yours.
